Every individual has unique needs, so the length of stay varies. However, the average length of stay is approximately eight days for adults and twelve days for older adults.

Upon admission to Haven, the patient will receive a nursing assessment, psychiatric evaluation, psychosocial assessment and physical. The patient will be asked to sign in at the nursing station and all personal belongings will be checked. A treatment plan will then be developed to address the individual needs of the patient.

We offer a community therapy model and the treatment team provides group therapy that includes cognitive and emotional processing, coping strategies, life skills and goal oriented treatment interventions.

Haven has many different types of groups, including but not limited to: AA, anger management, anxiety and stress, art therapy, assertiveness training, building healthy relationships, cognitive behavior therapy, communication skills, community resources, conflict resolution, dialectical behavior therapy, identifying triggers, journaling, medication group, nutrition, peer support group, positive coping skills, recovery group, process group, recreation, relapse prevention group, reminiscence therapy, sensory stimulation, socialization skills, team building and WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan).

Only the people authorized by the patient will receive information on your care and discharge.

To assure patient and visitor safety, we request only two visitors per patient. No children under 18 years old will be permitted without a physician’s order. Upon entrance to the unit visitors will be asked to sign in at the nursing station and all personal belongings will be checked. Visitors are not permitted to bring in personal bags or backpacks onto the unit. Visiting hours on the Pagoda and Tower Units are from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. (Monday through Sunday) and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.  Visiting hours on the Heritage Trail Unit are 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. daily

Yes. The social worker will hold conferences with willing family members to gather data and educate family members regarding support that the patient may need upon discharge.

On the day of discharge, please plan to leave Haven around 11:00 a.m.
